Two numbers decide whether a PC belongs in this conversation: 16 GB of RAM and an SSD. The store page lists both on the minimum tier, which is stricter than most releases at this price. The GPU floor is a GTX 1070 or an RX Vega 56, and the recommended card is an RTX 3070 or an RX 6700 XT — a wide gap that suggests the settings menu matters more than the hardware tier.

There is no Steam Deck rating yet. The compatibility API returns category zero, which means Valve has not issued a verdict; it is neither Verified nor marked Unsupported.

Two questions, two answers

  • System Requirements — both tiers in full, what each part of the spec implies, and how the demo's performance complaints were actually caused by a settings bug.
  • Sensitivity Converter — why no conversion constant is published, and the measurement method that gets you a usable number anyway.

A note on the demo's performance

The demo's first week produced a wave of low-frame-rate reports that had nothing to do with weak hardware. Automatic graphics detection was assigning the Epic preset to mid-range and low-end machines. A hotfix on 7 October fixed the detection, and the studio's advice in the meantime was to set the preset by hand. If the demo still runs badly on hardware that clears the minimum, start there rather than with a driver reinstall.
